The moment when you first wake up in the morning is the most wonderful of the twenty-four hours. No matter how weary or dreary you may feel, you possess the certainty that, during the day that lies before you, absolutely anything may happen. And the fact that it practically always doesn't, matters not a jot. The possibility is always there. ~Monica Baldwin And yet...clearly not everyone shares Monica Baldwin's view on the first moments of the new day. I admit I am one of those hop out of bed, up and at em, happy kind of gals. Although hopping out of bed ceased to occur long ago, morning is my favorite bit of the day. Whatever happened the day before to smear the silly smile right off of my face is all but forgotten with the potential that presents itself all before my morning cup of java. Despite all of this I remain mindful of the other members of my family that do not share in my enthusiasm. I learned early in my marriage to turn down the joy until others had a chance to capture the moment in their own way and on their own schedule. Each day starts for me with a quiet time in my art room. I am blessed to create and share the joy of walking a spiritual path with others. As I sit and prepare for the day ahead I love to begin with sending joy in great abundance out into the Universe. I love to practically shout in whispered exuberance of my gratitude for my life here and the people I am so blessed to meet. I offer thanks for what I am learning and for the patient companions that are willing to teach me. This is all before I begin to contemplate what colors are going to slide across that specially chosen piece of silk first! Creating for me brings me closer to the energy of the Divine (insert preferred title here) than almost any other circumstance. Whether I am writing or painting or facilitating an Angelic reading for a client, it all comes together to have me feel embraced by the greater good. I am simply better at being me and contributing to the positive energy of the Universe by jumping feet first into the great big sea of gratitude before taking on anything else. Whether you grasp the great gift of the first pieces of dawn or do not is not nearly as important as starting your day with gratitude and the knowledge that you are needed just as you are. And one more thing...You are loved beyond measure. And so it is. |
